Hannah & John’s engagement at Preston Park

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of hanging out around Preston Park, Brighton with Hannah & John, for their engagement session in the build up to their November Wedding at Wiston House in Steyning. We struggled to find (pretty) light initially & I felt really bad about the shots (the light was so bland)… but we persevered…& once we found it – it was totally worth it! I’m loving flare right now:)

If you want to see more of their session, you can check out their Slideshow, All of the images are also available in the Store.

I totally blew focus in the last shot, but I really love the feel of the shot:)

I’m really digging the new 50mm 1.2L, this whole session was shot with it! I can’t remember the last time I mis-focused as much – (incredibly shallow dof @ 1.2) but its an awesome lens – just a bit of a learning curve:)Looking forward to using it in a few other upcoming engagement sessions.

Gorgeous photos, again! I’m only just learning to use the 1.4 (with 35mm).. :) The 1.2 must be amazing though! That last shot is great too, even if the focus is a bit off & I love the b&w!

Awesome images as always! I also love the b&w, she looks so serene. The 50 1.2 is a traitorous beast, but once tamed will be your new best friend! Totally doesn’t matter that the last image is out of focus, you still nailed an adorable moment.

Brilliant shots, have some how managed to make me look half decent, a thankless task! I am really happy with the style of the work, just what we were looking for, my favourite is the b & w (no 3 on this blog). Great day, very enjoyable, roll on November for the main event. I will attempt to loose the M & S model pose for the big day! Thanks again.

Gorgeous shots. It was definitely worth hunting out that light! Beautiful. And I would have thought the softness of the last one was deliberate if you hadn’t said. Brave and really effective post production, especially on the second one.
