If you like what you have seen & are interested in booking me for your wedding, I’d love to hear from you!
I’m Simon Fazackarley, I’m a Wedding Photographer & If I had to describe my style in a few simple words, it would be:
‘Simple, Beautiful, Storytelling’
I’m sure there’s more to it than that, & It’s a bit of a cliche – but It’s what I do! (& have done for the past 12+ years!).
I like to create beautiful, simple & timeless images (& have a bit of fun doing so, I’m pretty sure nothing looks as beautiful & tells a story as well, as people laughing their heads off!).
I capture the natural atmosphere of weddings, building a story around all the little details – the smiles & laughter, family & friends, the dancing & speeches and everything in between.
I like to be as unobtrusive as possible, blending in as much as I can to capture your story & the moments as they naturally unfold, so that you’re free to enjoy your wedding day without constantly being asked to pose for photographs.
Most of the time people think I’m little more than a guest with a (albeit large & expensive) camera, which I take as a compliment!
Of course, I’m happy to do more posed, formal group photos as well – but even these I like to keep light, relaxed & fun.
I shoot this way for most of the day, but later on, if your schedule allows, it’s great if I can steal you away from your wedding party for a moment to take a few beautiful photos of the two of you on your own. These are usually a lot of fun, allow for a bit more creativity, and give you a chance to take some time for yourselves before getting back to your guests for the rest of the evening.
Throughout the evening I get back to being the unobtrusive story teller, capturing the beautiful, relaxed moments, the brilliant laughter & all the amazing dancing, all the while pulling together key moments towards the story of your day, moments that will bring back every laugh, smile & emotion for years to come.
If my style sounds like it would fit in well with your plans, I’d love to hear from you!
The photo paper is mounted flush to the edge of the page and there’s no central gutter, resulting in maximum image size and unlimited design possibilities, for a truly stunning album.
You can order wedding albums at anytime before, or after your wedding. All albums come with 30 pages as standard.

Here are some photos of various albums we’ve produced –
Here are some photos of the beautiful leather covers, which we can produce in a wide range of colours, below are ‘White’ (always popular!) & ‘Midnight’.
Thor wasn’t sure why we were taking pictures of a book and not him…
We also offer Linen albums, here are some photos of a recent linen album that went out to the wonderful Jessica & Hugh. They are available in a wider range of colours than the leather albums, the one shown below is ‘Chai’.
Do you travel for weddings?
Absolutely! While many of my commissions are within Brighton & Sussex, I shoot weddings all over the UK.
Recent weddings have taken me far north to the Lake District, the Peak District, Lancashire & Yorkshire, they’ve taken me to the farthest edges of Wales & along the coast down to Devon & Cornwall – plus all points in between.
I’m also happy to travel internationally, please ask for details.
How do we book you for our wedding?
First, get in touch to check if I’m available. If I am, you’ll just need to complete a booking form & pay the £500 booking fee and that’s it, your date will be secured. The booking fee is applied towards whichever wedding photography package you choose. The remaining balance is due four weeks before your wedding.
How do we pay?
I accept bank transfers & credit/debit cards through Paypal.
How many photos do we get?
400-600 for a wedding. However, I don’t impose limits, so if it takes 700 pictures to tell your story, that’s how many you’ll get!
30-50 for an engagement, but again – I don’t impose limits.
When do we get our wedding photos?
Your completed photos will be ready around 4-6 weeks after your wedding (in peak season it’s likely to be closer to 6 weeks). Engagement session photos are usually available sooner.
Can we print photos?
All the edited photos are provided ‘ready to print’ and I recommend you do — photos are meant to be printed and enjoyed!
Do you do wedding albums?
Yes, I do! For further information see the wedding album page, or get in touch.
Can you provide a second photographer?
My partner Heather is also my associate photographer, & often works with me at larger weddings or where dual coverage is required. When she’s not working with me at weddings Heather is a professional food and lifestyle photographer. You can see some examples of her beautiful photography here. Our styles and working dynamic compliment each other perfectly and for a small additional cost we can offer wedding photography packages including both of us.
Do you do group photos?
Absolutely! Whilst I’m predominantly a documentary photographer – I’m more than happy to do group photographs. I suggest keeping the list down to 8-10 groups, to allow us to do them quickly & efficiently, without taking too much time away from your drinks reception. For more information, I’ve written a little guide here: Group Photographs.
Fazackarley… it’s pronounced Faz-ack-arr-lee and it’s my surname, it’s my business name & it’s an old English word, meaning the clearing in/at the edge of the woods, apparently. Although I’m pretty sure most olde English words mean that!
Can you recommend any venues?
I’ve worked at so many venues & they’re all great for different styles of weddings, I’ve put together a few of my favourite venues from the South of England here: Wedding Venues in the South of England
Do you photograph anything besides weddings?
I predominately shoot weddings but I also do commercial photography when my schedule allows, mostly lifestyle, product and editorial work.
What camera gear do you use? Do you bring backups?
I’m exclusively a Canon guy. For the cameraphiles my main kit is:
5d mkIII, 24mm f1.4L II, 35mm f1.4L, 45mm f2.8 TS-E, 50mm f1.2L, 85mm f1.2L, 135mm f2.0L, 70-200mm f2.8L IS.
I also use Canon 580EXII flashes, flash triggers, a few handheld video lights, prisms, handheld optical lenses & a ton of other stuff that makes me feel important.
I’m always looking for ways to improve my wedding photography & I’m currently trying out some new flash modifiers – called MagMods, which give me lots of new options for creative lighting & a whole new camera system in the Fuji X Pro-2’s, which is tiny, rangefinder style camera – It’s far less intrusive than my main gear, which allows me to blend in even more & capture the tiniest of moments without intruding – they’re also super light, which helps me after a long day!!
I always bring backup cameras and lenses to every wedding — so should anything happen to my main gear, your coverage won’t be affected.
Are you insured?
I don’t like to leave anything to chance, so yes – all my gear is fully insured and I also have public liability insurance. If you need proof of insurance let me know.
If you like the sound of what I do & would like me to photograph your wedding, please contact me for more information.
“Allison and I are so overwhelmed after looking at the photos. We can’t thank you enough, they are beautiful!
We felt like we got to relive the whole day and even see parts we weren’t aware of at the time. There are amazing pictures of everyone so we can’t wait to show everyone! Allison has been dying to see the photos and now that she has she says she can die a happy woman haha!”
“We are both in the creative industry and have worked with photographers professionally for many years, and are very, very particular. We did not want to use anyone we had previously worked with for our wedding day and hunted high and low for the right person. So when we say Simon exceeded our expectations on every level you can be assured he is one of the best out there.
Seriously… two words… Book Him.”
“We had such fun and we were really impressed with the both of you. We felt in very safe hands and your presence was unobtrusive and completely professional. For that, we really thank you both. Even when we went to collect our things from the venue on the following Monday morning the staff said you were two of the nicest photographers they’d ever hosted.
As for the photos – we are so impressed and so happy with them. It is really nice to see parts of the day that we weren’t a part of and also to remind ourselves of the day. You’ve captured all the details that we worked so hard on and we’ll treasure the photos forever. We can’t wait to share them with our families and friends.”
“WE LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you a million times over Simon. You have done such a brilliant job!!! We’re so happy we chose you, you captured the day exactly how I imagined you would.
Honestly, we’re over the moon!!! ”
“There are few words to describe the quality of Simons photography. Actually, there’s LOADS. Gorgeous, Incredible, Awe-Inspiring, Stunning, Goose-bump-inducing, Beautiful. And then there’s the man himself. I can’t imagine anyone you’d rather have documenting one of the most important days of your life.
He’s so lovely. Fact. Book him. Please. Thank-you.”
“We wanted someone who could capture the special moments from our day; the laughter, characters and memories. Simon absolutely has done that and then some! Every time we look through our amazing, beautiful photographs we notice something new and it takes us back to the day…
…He’s also a great bloke. So book him, you will not regret it!”
“They are incredible.. I cried, again!!! Love you, thanks so much!! xx”
“…thank you for being such a totally awesome photographer! We can’t tell you enough times how much we love the photos, but more than that, just how grateful we are for your professionalism and attitude on the day – everyone has commented how great you were! Thanks so much, Helen & Adam xxx”
“You made us feel at ease and blended in with everyone to capture so many moments we didn’t get a chance to see on the day.
It has been great re-living them together. Thank You! ”
“I just wanted to say a massive thank you for our wedding album, it looks absolutely amazing and tells such a lovely story of the day!! The quality of the print is soo good and shows off your great pictures in the best possible way.
From all-day coverage to smaller, more intimate ceremonies to multi-day events or elopements (I love elopements!!) – I can work out a package that perfectly meets your needs, so drop me an email & we can discuss your plans.
As standard every package includes the high resolution files & an online gallery for you to share with your family & friends, with unlimited free image downloads.
In addition to various coverage options, I can also offer Engagement sessions, a second photographer & a wide range of wedding albums & prints, because beautiful photos deserve to be printed!
I’m based in Brighton, Sussex – but happy to travel nationally & internationally – I would love for your wedding to take me somewhere new!
Travel within Sussex is included with all weddings & engagements, outside of Sussex additional travel & accommodation fees may apply. International weddings are usually charged at standard rates + flights & accommodation.
We’re not getting married, but we really want some nice photos, can you help us?
Absolutely! – Whilst I predominately photograph weddings & they keep me really busy, I’m always open to all sorts of opportunities – family shoots, anniversary shoots, whatever you need drop me an email & we’ll see what I can do!
I live in Brighton, with my partner Heather, our tiny/mischievous/curious 1 year old human – Robyn & our massive (50kg!), but friendly, dog – Thor.
I’ve been photographing weddings for around 13 years now and yet I still get a huge buzz at each and every enquiry that comes in. Nothing compares to being a part of someones special day, capturing their stories & documenting their love. It’s literally the best job ever.
When I’m not photographing, editing or being generally immersed in weddings, I’m an outdoorsy, active kind of guy, I love spending time with the family in forests or out on adventures – & once the adventures are done for the day, we’re working our way through Netflix, currently binging on Sons of Anarchy (& contemplating buying leather jackets!), having just got up-to-date with House of Cards.
Oh, & it’s pronounced ‘Faz-ack-arr-lee’ it’s an olde English word apparently… It means ‘the clearing at the edge of the forest’, or ‘Flat land with trees’ – but, I’m pretty sure most Olde English words mean that.
Heather is my partner, proud mummy to Robyn & my associate photographer, we work together at larger weddings or where duel coverage is needed. Heather shoots amazing details and helps me to capture the emotions of the wedding day. She’s one of the friendliest people you could meet, has a silly sense of humor and has also helped calm many an anxious bride. But Heather isn’t just a valuable member of Team Faz, she’s also a professional food & lifestyle photographer. You can see some of her beautiful photography here or on her popular food blog Breakfast by the Sea.
Thor’s a huge, friendly, fluffy Malamute cross German Shepherd. He doesn’t come to weddings (although he might do wonders for keeping everyone’s attention during group photos!) and tends to just lie around the studio while we’re editing. He also enjoys long walks on the downs & stealing (and eating) socks.
Anyway, enough about us – we’d love to hear about you and your wedding plans!
I get back to all enquiries, usually within a few hours – if you haven’t had a reply within 24hrs, please resend your message or email email@example.com.
