After some truly awful May weather the sun decided to make a welcome appearance for Julia and Anuar’s wedding at Bury Court. And boy was it a beautiful day!
Although I’d not met Julia and Anuar before the wedding I had spoken to them on the phone and knew how warm and friendly they both were so I was mega excited about shooting their wedding!
The couple really wanted dual coverage of their wedding so I had Heather shooting with me for the day – it’s always lovely to capture both the groom and the brides morning prep! And at Bury Court the ceremony and reception all take place in the grounds of the venue so Heather and I were able to easily dart about from morning prep to ceremony and then reception without missing any of the action.
Jo & Tom’s story is of a holiday romance that blossomed into true love.
I first met Jo and Tom when I did an engagement session with them in the Surrey Hills a few months ago. We had so much fun that day so I knew that their wedding was going to be awesome.
Jo got ready at her parents house in Woking so I started the day with her there for croissants, bubbly and to meet the rest of her bridal party. It turns out they were all as smiley and friendly as Jo!
When it came to the ceremony itself later in the day, photography unfortunately wasn’t permitted, which was a bit of a shame, but you’ll just have to
take my word that the legal bit did happen and it was lovely!
After the ceremony everyone headed off to Bury Court for the reception. I’ve actually done a few weddings at Bury Court and it never disappoints – it’s such a lovely venue and it really comes to life when the bride and groom put their own special touches to the day. For Jo and Tom this was homemade gingerbread men wedding favours, gorgeous summer flowers and all the guests tables were named after places that had played an important part in Jo & Tom’s lives. And during the speeches guests were treated to not one but two slide shows that had been put together by Jo and Tom’s close family and friends – touching family stories and the obligatory collection of embarrassing photos provided plenty of tears and giggles!
To the amazing Jo and Tom, thank you for letting me be a part of your special day!
On a sunny Sunday morning in late May I headed off to Newlands Corner in the Surrey Hills for Jo & Tom’s engagement session.
Despite being a little bit camera shy at the start of the day, Jo & Tom were soon working their stuff like total pros!
Jo & Tom thanks for being such stars – can’t wait for your upcoming wedding at Bury Court!
Victoria & Jon got married at The Barn at Bury Court; having shot their engagement in the new forest & getting to know them over the past year or so, it was a day I’d been looking forward to for ages! It was doubley exciting, as I’ve been working with Victoria on a few other projects this past year; & over business lunches (mmm burgers!) I’d heard stories about their families, so I felt like I knew everyone before the day even began – & putting faces to names was great fun!
Featuring special guest appearances from Carolanne Armstrong & The Wedding Reporter.
Louise & Craig got married earlier in the year, at the fantastic Barn at Bury Court, a venue I’ve had the privilege of working at before – It’s always a lot of fun there & after shooting Louise & Craig’s engagement I knew their day was going to be special & filled with fun. Sadly Kane, their beautiful dog couldn’t make an appearance, but it was a great day none-the-less, filled with smiles, laughter & tons of happiness!
I started with Louise & the girls at The Bush Hotel, Farnham:
Last Friday, Sarah & Joe’s wedding in The Barn at Bury Court, Surrey. It was easily the wettest wedding I’ve ever photographed & it really reminded me that all umbrellas are not created equal!
But the wet weather couldn’t put a downer on Sarah’s excitement & enthusiasm! Amazingly organised & full of gorgeous little details! Not to mention a coach-load of awesome, good looking people! (I love Londoners!) A photographer couldn’t ask for more!! What a seriously great day!
