Earlier this month I headed off to Surrey to shoot Christabel and Joshua’s wedding at Hampton Court House. I’ve shot a fair few weddings at HCH now so it’s always handy to know exactly where I’m going when I set off on the day!
My first stop was to meet up with the girls for the bridal preparations at Christabel and Joshua’s house: one of the sweetest houses I’ve ever seen, tucked away between some plush apartment blocks in Hampton Wick. After spending a bit of time with the girls I headed off to Hampton Court House to meet up with Joshua and the rest of the wedding party.
Mary & Will got married at the Bingham Hotel in Richmond, a lovely boutique hotel in a Georgian townhouse (With lovely bow windows, as I was informed by Will’s dad!) on the banks of the Thames – I’d not shot a wedding here before, so it was a nice treat!
Mary & Will (& their family & friends!) are unbelievably friendly, chilled out, relaxed & so easy to get along with, so it was alot of fun to be a part of their day. They also know how to let their hair down in mega fashion, as you’ll see from the dancing…
Their wedding took place in late November at 4pm – so a proper winter wedding to give my low light photography skills a workout – but was a lot of fun!
For the photographers out there, these images were the first set I’ve processed with VSCO, it produces a slightly different look to my images, & I’m still trying to find a rhythm with it, but it’s a nice way of working & fits into my workflow er… splendidly! As good a word as any, better than some in fact.
Emma & Matt’s wedding at Hampton Court House last year was a whole lot of fun, really nice people, a great atmosphere & an amazing location!
Greek weddings… wow.
This was my first greek wedding & OMG it was awesome, it wasn’t quite a ‘full fat’ greek wedding, as Ty & his family are from South Africa, so it was coined as a ‘Big Fat Greek South African Wedding’ – whatever it was, it was amazing!
Readers will recognize these guys from their engagement photos posted the other week, I knew their wedding was going to be cool from that day, the day when they described greek ceremonies, customs & traditions over gallons of pimms. As I’d never shot a greek wedding before it was ultra important that I knew was going to happen in advance, so I could plan ahead – but no amount of planning truly prepares you!! There was so much going on, but it was mega!
They got married at the Twelve Apostles Greek Orthodox Church in Hertfordshire & then headed over to Fanhams Hall for their reception.
A massive thank you goes out to Maria & Ty, & their family & friends for having me along for the ride! I loved every minute! & would love to shoot a million more greek weddings!!
