A few weeks ago, I traveled to Brookfield Barn, a brand new wedding venue, both in terms of it being the first wedding I’ve photographed there, but also in that it only opened a year or so ago! It’s very exciting to have such a great new venue right on my doorstep!

I was there for the wedding of CJ and Luke, it was a date I felt I had highlighted on my calendar for a long time, as CJ first contacted me straight after I’d photographed Katie & Jason’s Barn wedding.

One of CJ’s 13 Bridesmaids, (yes you read that right! one-three. thirteen!) was Katie’s sister, so CJ had seen my work, loved my style and wanted me to be their photographer. When I get enquiries like that, they’re always super exciting – as I know some of the crowd already, and it becomes as if I’m just photographing a friends wedding, which is a pretty special thing to say.

Talking to CJ in the build up to the big day, I had the feeling they just wanted to have fun. Fun with their guests, fun with the photos & just make their wedding a fun one. If there’s one thing I’m ok with at weddings, it’s fun. From naming your own table to golf buggy rallying to laser clay pigeon shooting – they certainly made sure there was lots to do!

I always try to keep things pretty light & fun anyway, but when you’ve got 13 *ahem* slightly tipsy *ahem* bridesmaids running at you & trying to make a human pyramid, you pretty much can’t avoid laughing.

The day ran like clockwork thanks to the efforts of both the Brookfield Barn staff, but also the fact that wedding planning superstar Susie Evans was behind the wheel. A pleasure to work with you all!

Also, thank you to Scott Wright, who video’d the day & generally helped out – good fella to work with for sure.

Thank you to CJ & Luke for having me along for your beautiful, fun packed day!
