A few weeks ago I photographed a wedding. It was a very pretty, totally relaxed & utterly vintage day. It was the wedding of Victoria & Graeme.
When I met V&G way back in… oh early 2010.. ok, so maybe not that way back, but I wanted to add some depth & grandeur to proceedings, They told me their plans to have a vintage wedding theme – a 20′s vintage picnic type affair to be precise & I loved the idea! After our meeting they invited me to hang out & play Little Big Planet on the Playstation3 , which was awesome… & after our meeting/chatting/gaming session – I knew these were absolutely, 100% my kinda people, So when they booked me for their wedding I was very excited!
Over the following months I had the opportunity to get to know them a bit & the more I got to know them the more I loved them & their plans for their wedding! Then we had their gorgeous engagement session, on that hot day in June, (you know – the only one we’ve had this year…) Where their taste in vintage loveliness came through even more – So, the wedding was shaping up to be pretty amazing!
Now we start the photos in this post on a different day to that of the actual wedding.
V wanted some pictures of her shoes & dress, but the schedule of their day didn’t allow for this, So I offered to start my coverage a few days early & get some details in the bag!

Now, details are lovely, & a bit of off camera flash in a dark forest in cool – but I know your all eager to see the actual photography from their day! I had Joanna Brown assisting/shooting with me on this wedding – thanks Joanna!
So, without further ado… onto the photos!
V&G planned a different kind of wedding day, they saw each other before the main event & greeted their arriving guests as a couple.

Which also gave Gray a good opportunity to soak up all the w-day attention , in his funky Gresham Blake suit

The schedule of the day allowed time to do a few portraits of them before the ceremony, got to love that!

Whilst V&G went off to chat to the registrar, I wandered around with the guests, getting ready for the ceremony, oh & did I mention how windy it was? Those hats did not want to stay put! Luckily I’d left my Fedora at home…

Victoria had made these gorgeous little felt hearts for everyone to wear – love a bit of DIY detail action!

The vintage theme was in full swing – Vintage camera gear – oh yes!

Huge respect to Victorias dad for matching Heart to tie – I have to say, that is a very good look! Complete with the amazing shoes!

I (little coloured felt) heart this moment -

& this moment – I heart this one too… long lenses are where its at sometimes…

Gray struggled with his own name during the ceremony, so there was a definite celebration when he (eventually) got it right!

I love the layout of Laughton – it allowed for amazing flexiblity in shots – awesome!

Joanna was shooting creative angles – love this one! a moment & a cool composition. what more could you want!

Even the straws were quirky!! Did I mention I love these guys??

Vintage cameras – not just for show!

Since working with Phill a few times lately, I’ve been working hard on my candid moment capturing skills & timing!

Some say he’s attracted to tight graphic compositions… others say he’s attracted to the colour orange…All we know is – he’s called Fazackarley…

And pink… apparently…

The weather was not what you’d expect from August…

Time for to snatch the Bride & Groom away from their guests for a few minutes…

I don’t think they were taking it seriously =) – Which is perfect! Serious is dull!

Now I’ve got a little reputation for loving shoes as much as an lady… which is totally unfounded! But when people have shoes as awesome as these – how can you not love them!

Time to return the Bride & Groom back into their natural surroundings (said with an Attenborough voice…)

You just gots to grab a few details – Everything is better with bunting!

Love the centerpieces! – vintage bottles, feathers & flowers!

Vintage cigarette cards!

DIY signs = Awesome.

Lawn games = Awesomeness.

After putting myself in the Bowling firing line for long enough, The safety of horizontal, graphical compositions appealed to me…

& did I metion the Croquet? (or Croquet golf, as it turned into later in the day…)

Time for a bit of crowd control, – Joanna did the boys… (ooo-er.)

I did the girls (ooo-er.) LOVE a good bit of bouquet tossing action!!

Although I’m pretty sure Victoria overshot her target -

Lets move the narative forward a bit & into the reception for the speeches! – V’s Dad first…

Everything… & I repeat.. EVERYTHING, is better with The Wizard of Oz.

Grays time to shine…

and after some of the content of Victorias dad’s one – its little wonder he directed some of it directly at him!

And finally.. time for Grays bestman to take the stage… & three for three, Gray couldn’t catch a break!

After the speeches a few people wanted their picture taken – Gray hadn’t had enough me thinks!

And finally, in keeping with this vintage themes loveliness – I thought I’d end it with The Charleston… Love It!

Wow, flippin’ fantastic as per usual!!
We love you Mr Fazackarley!
Love this. Fantastic black & whites and totally loving the candid shots! And the dude with the old-school camera… class! x
I’d like to express how awesome this wedding looks and how powerful the photography is, but I’d have to filter out all the profane expletives that would tumble out of my head. Err, flipping marvellous I say!
Beautiful pictures! The close up shots are gorgeous.
Omg I love everything about this wedding, and you did an immense job too I must say!
