Last month was crazy, I shot more weddings in August, than I did in my entire first year of business! & yet I. Loved. Every. Single. One.
Emma & Dan are awesome, totally lovely people & I knew their wedding day was going to be a stylish affair! After seeing how relaxed & fun they were in front of the camera on their engagement session it was a day I’d been looking forward to for ages! OK, so it rained a bit… but that didn’t stop them having a great time & it certainly didn’t stop me getting pretty pictures…
I had the brilliant Mister Phill shooting with me for this wedding, I usually work alone – (to blend in ninja stylee), but sometimes it’s nice to work as a team & when you gotta work with someone – you gotta make sure they’re awesome. (& can blend in equally as ninja stylee.)
Here are some of my favourites from the day!

Time to head over to see what Phill, Dan & the boys were upto! Dan was helping everyone get ready – what a star!

There’s always one that needs a little more help than most
(in fairness, more often than not – its me…)

Emma & Dan had their ceremony in the utterly gorgeous St. Laurence, Falmer Church – a church literally 4 minutes drive from my house… I’d never been in there before – so was really excited to shoot a wedding there! & It’s gone straight into my top ten churches list! (yes… I have a top ten list!… I’m not ashamed to admit it)

Oh…& did I mention it was raining? August is meant to be sunny… but it wasn’t…

Huge thanks to the Vicar, who was totally relaxed with me being at the front! Being so close to the action pretty much guarantees beautiful, intimate shots! This allowed Phill to stay at the back & get the dramatic, establishing shots!

This next one is one of my favourite shots this year!
Love this shot that Phill took, nailing focus on Emma in the back of a moving car, Phill has Skills. Enough said.

Pangdean Barn is an awesome location for a wedding – It looks nice, it’s easy to get to & the staff are fabulous! seriously, I can’t remember the last time I was treated so well by a venue! Thanks!!! The team really made the day look amazing & flow perfectly – I can’t praise them enough!

After dinner, it was time for the speeches! Always love a good speech! -

After dinner & speeches, it was time to head outside to enjoy the sun (that finally appeared, just in time for sunset!)
Phill grabbed this one – Now that is an awesome expression!! Love it!
2010 has been a good year for lawn games & croquet… if the trend keeps up, I may actually work out how to play it myself!

Back inside, time for some music & lots of dancing!

Huge thanks to Emma & Dan for including me in your day – It was awesome!! Hope you love your photos as much as I loved taking them!! All of the planning & effort you put into your wedding, you’ve made my portfolio infinitely stronger!!
– can’t wait to get your album printed!!
And another massive, massive thanks to Mister Phill for shooting with me on this one!
Told you Morris Minors are amazing!! Lovely work
So beautiful. What a dream photography team, though! These feel so fresh, light and fun even though it started of a wet and dreary day. Love the Morris Minor wedding car. Far more up my street than a Rolls any day of the week.
These are gorgeous. Love them all but especially the Bride & Groom portraits in the sun. The light is stunning.
Processed to perfection as usual. Top work from you both!
You know, I didn’t recall it raining on Emma & Dan’s wedding day? It completely slipped my mind whenever I thought back on it. All I could remember was how beautiful a day it was (and indeed how truly lovely they are as individuals, and as a couple). You’ve created something of great beauty in the final collection of images of that day too, Simon. It was inspiring to observe how fantastically well you deal with your clients and their family and friends on the big day. The images speak for themselves but the manner in which you go about creating them speaks volumes when witnessed.
Inspiring blog amigo! Lovely job. And the Morris Minor is possibly the best wedding car I’ve seen all season! Nice. B
Gorgeous wedding! Your photos are really beautiful.
Hi there,
I was just having a search on the Internet for weddings at Falmer church. I couldn’t believe it when I cam across Dan & Emma’s wedding on your wonderful website. Unbelievably, we are getting married at Falmer Church 31st August 2012 (this year), and our reception venue is Pangdean Barn. Our colour scheme is the same and even the bridesmaid dresses are the same
We must have the same taste. As to mention the wedding dress WOW! And again similar shape and design to mine.
I really do hope that Dan and Emma are still very happy and you have really inspired me for our wedding day! So very excited!
xx
