Katy and James’ East Meon wedding was an absolute corker! Scorching hot weather, a fabulous couple, mega friendly guests, a beautiful location and tons of gorgeous details.
Katy and James wanted dual coverage so they booked both Heather and I for their big day. When we checked the weather reports the day before and saw the possibility of heavy thunder storms/sun we decided to pack welly boots (luckily we didn’t need the wellies!) and sun tan lotion before heading off to East Meon in Hampshire to meet up with Katy and her bridal party who were getting ready at the local B&B.
Katy and James’ wedding had a really relaxed festival/country fete vibe to it. They’d hired a huge field close to Katy’s parents house for the wedding reception, marquee and camping and after the church ceremony a tractor and trailer had been laid on to transport the guests through the winding country lanes to the reception venue.
All their friends and family had helped to decorate the marquee, providing homemade cakes, favors and flowers and bunting (the girls won’t forgive me if I don’t also mention the amazing homemade pom poms!). There were also loads of awesome party games, including a coconut shy, splat the rat, welly throwing and hoopla, all handmade by Katy’s sisters – a seriously awesome day! We absolutely love games at weddings – we’ve seen it all from fun fairs to throwing pigs – it always adds such a fun element to the day for guests, and for us to photograph (and occasionally, have a go on!)
Katy and James, we had such an amazing time at your wedding. You’re both so easy going and lovely that you made our job a breeze. Thanks you so much for letting us be part of your special day!
