We’re Simon + Heather. We’re relaxed, Gloucestershire wedding photographers and videographers.

Hello and welcome!

We’re Simon and Heather, we’re a photography and videography couple covering the whole of Gloucestershire, Bath, Bristol, Cheltenham and The Cotswolds.

We specialise in beautiful, relaxed wedding photography and films, capturing all the joy of your day as it naturally happens.

You can hire us for photography, videography or both with our combined packages.

We’re based on the South Coast of England but we work all across Gloucestershire and the rest of the UK. We’ve been photographing weddings for over 14 years and we’ve been named amongst the best wedding photographers in the Country – rest assured that you are in safe hands with us! We include travel in all our packages so wherever you’re planning to get married you won’t need to worry about any hidden costs.

If our style sounds like a good fit for your special day then get in touch – we’d love to chat and hear all about your plans.

“I can’t imagine anyone you’d rather have documenting one of the most important days of your life.”

Gloucestershire offers so many amazing venues for weddings that you’re really spoilt for choice!. If you’re looking for a grand wedding venue then Thornbury Castle might be worth a look. This Tudor Castle, formally owned by Henry VIII, is a stunning venue for one of the most important days of your life – imagine spending your wedding night in a luxurious four-poster bed or hosting your wedding reception in the Great Hall. If you’re after something a bit more rustic then the Gloucester wedding barn at Kingscote might be more to your taste. This award-winning stone barn is set in the Cotswold Hills, surrounded by lush fields and far-reaching views – the perfect backdrop for stunning wedding photographs.

Relaxed wedding photography

We understand that not everyone is comfortable having their photograph taken so we try to blend in with your friends and family as much as possible, keeping everything very relaxed, natural and unobtrusive – it’s important to us that you enjoy your day!

We know no one wants to stand around for hours posing awkwardly for photographs and a lot of our couples tell us they aren’t comfortable in front of the camera.  We like to keep things simple and relaxed, blending in with your family and friends as much as possible and photographing your day as it naturally happens. We’ve been photographing weddings for over 14 years so you can rest assured that we can strike the perfect balance of taking lovely relaxed photographs while ensuring we are exactly where we need to be to make sure all the key moments of your day are photographed beautifully without disrupting your day.

We’re lucky enough to have photographed weddings at some of Gloucestershire’s most beautiful venues from the impressive Thornbury Castle to the romantic wedding barn at Kingscote and intimate ceremonies at The Painswick.

Our Style

Our style is really informal and we photograph and film your day as it happens, without taking you away from your guests for hours and hours to pose for photos. We know how much work goes into planning a wedding and we certainly don’t want you to miss your own party!
We love making portraits, but we fit them in when they make sense to the day, not when your granny wants to give you a hug or you want to catch up with school friends you’ve not seen for years.

Gloucestershire

Gloucestershire isn’t just famous for old spot pigs and cheese-rolling, it also boasts some of the most striking countryside in the UK including the Forest of Dean and large parts of the Cotswolds. Quintessentially English villages like the medieval riverside town of Tewkesbury, the market town of Winchcombe with its timber-beamed inns and historic architecture and Bibury, often described as the most beautiful village in England, all offer the perfect way to spend a lazy summer afternoon wandering historic streets admiring the honey-coloured Cotswold cottages.

Gloucestershire Weddings

As a county Gloucestershire really has it all, with some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK like the Forest of Dean and the Severn Vale, it’s no wonder it’s been an inspiration for many well known artists and writers including Tolkein and JK Rowling. History Buffs

History buffs will love to wander the medieval streets of Tewkesbury, an historic riverside town with beautiful black and white timbered and an elegant Abbey. Or perhaps spend an afternoon wandering the streets of Cirencester, the largest town in the Cotswolds and a thriving market town. Although known as the capital of the Cotswolds, Cirencester is often overlooked in favour of the cultural buzz of Cheltenham with its abundance of festivals and events, but it has a great selection of independent shops, restaurants and cafes and a significant place in English history because of its Roman past.

Forest of Dean Weddings

If you are an outdoorsy person then a visit to the Forest of Dean is a must. England’s oldest oak forest with an impressive industrial past is now home to a wide variety of wildlife and offers the perfect day out, with cycling routes, a sculpture trail and plenty of refreshment spots. If you have been dreaming of a Forest of Dean wedding then you there are plenty of options from formal ceremonies in licenced venues like Clearwell Castle to informal woodland blessings.

If you’d like to experience something truly spectacular when visiting Gloucestershire there are few sights more impressive than the Severn Bore. The Severn Bore is a large surge wave that can be seen in the estuary of the River Severn. Bores occur all year round and can be as high as 3 metres in mid-stream and because of this the Bore attracts surfers from all over the World, vying to record the longest ride.

Films + Photos

We offer both photography and videography, so you can have us for photography, videography – or both, cutting down the hassle of hiring separate suppliers.

Our wedding films perfectly compliment our wedding photography, shot in a similar style but offering you the opportunity to have your ceremony and speeches recorded so you can relive the magic of your big day again and again.

All our packages include travel so you don’t need to worry about any additional costs.

Yes! Simon is the primary photographer and Heather acts as associate photographer at larger weddings or where dual coverage is required. She also takes the lead on our stunning wedding films. Our styles and working dynamic compliment each other perfectly and for a small additional cost we can offer wedding photography packages including both of us.

We’ve photographed hundreds of weddings over the past 14 years and have had the pleasure of documenting a variety of Asian Weddings, Jewish weddings, Indian weddings, Greek Weddings, as well as many Catholic & CoE Weddings. We always thoroughly research ceremonies of cultures and religions that we haven’t experienced before, to ensure everything runs smoothly and we know exactly what to expect.

The majority of photos are produced with Canon 5d mkIV, Canon 5d mkIII and lenses such as 24mm f1.4L II, 35mm f1.4L, 45mm f2.8 TS-E, 50mm f1.2L, 85mm f1.2L, 135mm f2.0L, 70-200mm f2.8L IS.

Also Canon 580EXII flashes, flash triggers, a few handheld video lights, prisms, handheld optical lenses & a lot of other things to unleash creativity.

Multiple backup cameras and lenses come to every wedding — so should anything happen to the main gear, your coverage won’t be affected.

Heather creates videos using much of the same equipment, as well as a variety of microphones and lighting solutions.
