Exciting news, we’ve just found out about a brand new wedding venue in Sussex – Montague Farm. It’s not every day a new wedding venue opens – we’re especially pleased, as it’s so close to home, so needless to say, we’re all smiles!
Sussex has always proved popular for Barn weddings, and the team behind Montague Farm are brilliant – Our friend Bryony from Blue Doors Barn is coordinating. We’ve worked with her many times in our capacity as a preferred photographer over at Firle Place, so we know the venue is in good hands.
As its a brand new venue, we’re very excited to work there for the first time – but in the meantime, here are some of our favourite photos from other Sussex Barn Weddings with a few mixed in from Firle to give you a feel for the level of quality you can expect. They should provide some inspiration for your Montague Farm Wedding.
Montague Farm Weddings
Located just along the coast from us in Hankham, East Sussex (Just above Eastbourne!). Montague Barn is ideally placed for couples all across Sussex, and if the other Sussex Barn Wedding Venues have taught us anything, it’s that London couples love to come down to Sussex to get married – the draw of the rolling Sussex countryside and all the green space make for a beautiful day. Some couples choose Sussex as their family might be from here, or they grew up in the area – but with the excellent transport links into London – it’s always popular, even if just for a bit of ‘green’ that you can’t really get in the capital.
Tell me more about the venue?
Montague Farm is on the edge of the beautiful Pevensey Levels (we can confirm the area is stunning, we almost brought a house there!) – with far-reaching views across grassland, rolling countryside and down to the sea. You can walk from Herstmonceux castle along the Pevensey levels all the way to the sea – a truly magical walk taking in and all the cute Sussex villages.
The farm was built-in the 18th Century and has a mixture of Barns and Courtyards that are sure to provide the most wonderful background to a wedding. It’s a family-owned venue and beautifully intimate. It’s also very photogenic (which, let’s face it – is what photographers want to hear!!). Spread across a few buildings, including a newly restored Pig Barn, Hay Barn and a stunning old shack which is planned to become a kind of prairie-chic bar. Suffice to say, we’re very excited to get to work there.
