Jo & Tom

Jo & Tom’s story is of a holiday romance that blossomed into true love.

I first met Jo and Tom when I did an engagement session in the Surrey Hills a few months ago. We had so much fun that day so I knew that their wedding was going to be awesome.

Jo got ready at her parents house in Woking so I started the day with her there for croissants, bubbly and to meet the rest of her bridal party. It turns out they were all as smiley and friendly as Jo!

When it came to the ceremony itself later in the day, photography  unfortunately wasn’t permitted, which was a bit of a shame, but you’ll just have to
take my word that the legal bit did happen and it was lovely!

After the ceremony everyone headed off to Bury Court for the reception. I’ve actually done a few weddings at Bury Court and it never disappoints – it’s such a lovely venue and it really comes to life when the bride and groom put their own special touches to the day. For Jo and Tom this was homemade gingerbread men wedding favours, gorgeous summer flowers and all the guests tables were named after places that had played an important part in Jo & Tom’s lives. And during the speeches guests were treated to not one but two slide shows that had been put together by Jo and Tom’s close family and friends – touching family stories and the obligatory collection of embarrassing photos provided plenty of tears and giggles!

To the amazing Jo and Tom, thank you for letting me be a part of your special day!

Victoria & Jon

Victoria & Jon got married at The Barn at Bury Court – I’ve had a pleasure of photographing quite a few Bury Court Weddings over the years, So I know what a gorgeous venue it is! & having shot their engagement in the new forest & getting to know them over the past year or so, it was a day I’d been looking forward to for ages! It was doubley exciting, as I’ve been working with Victoria on a few other projects this past year; & over business lunches (mmm burgers!) I’d heard stories about their families, so I felt like I knew everyone before the day even began – & putting faces to names was great fun!

Featuring special guest appearances from Carolanne Armstrong.

Louise & Craig

Louise & Craig got married earlier in the year, at the fantastic Barn at Bury Court, it’s a venue I’ve had the privilege of working at many times before – I believe my first wedding there was about 2009! Time flies!

Bury Court Barn is an impressive wedding venue – filled with wow factor and with the most wonderful gardens in Bentley, Surrey. It really lends itself to big, fun summer weddings and with the ability to seamlessly transition from the magnificent indoor spaces to the gorgeous outdoor spaces – it really adds a relaxed vibe to any wedding day, and when the sun is shining the terraces transform into the most magical, relaxing space.

Louise and Craig knew this and they had planned just that!

They told me ahead of their wedding about their vision –  they wanted to share a perfect summers day with all of their friends and family and just have a lovely time enjoying delicious food and drink, having a big party, celebrating with everyone they know.

As always, Bury Court Barn looked absolutely beautiful and the gardens were in full bloom, Louise had really made the venue her own with a lovely summery colour pallet and lots of lovely hand made pom poms hanging from the vaulted ceiling.

This attention to detail, coupled with the fact that Louise & Craig really know how to throw an amazing party, made for a very lively day – it helped that all the groomsmen and ushers were all up for a great laugh  – and many of the guests work with Craig in the fire service – a more lively bunch of party animals you will seldom meet.

I started with Louise & her many bridesmaids at The Bush Hotel in nearby Farnham, a perfect spot to get ready as its reasonably close to Bury Court Barn, and allows for a really good sized wedding party – along with multiple makeup artists, hairstylists to get ready for a special day, in comfort. Louise was clearly nervous/excited – but her bridesmaids and mum really kept the atmosphere light and fun, stopping any nerves from taking over.

After the preparations, everything took place at Bury Court and everyone really embraced the indoor/outdoor vibe of the day and had the most wonderful time until the late hours on the terraces enjoying Hog Roast, champagne and music, as the sun slowly fell beneath the surrey hills.

Thank you L+C, so much, for having me along to document your beautiful day!
