A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Katie & Jason’s wonderful wedding at St. Margaret’s Church, Ditching & Pangdean Barns. I love Pangdean barn weddings – I’ve had the opportunity to shoot there a lot before, it’s really close to my house & it’s just such a beautiful venue – the staff are top notch too!
There couldn’t be a more fitting start to my wedding season than the gorgeous Valentine’s day wedding of Hannah and Jamie in Ditchling.
Ditching is really sweet little village, with lovely views of the Downs from St Margaret’s Church where the ceremony took place. And although the sun was shining, I have to hand it to Jamie and his groomsmen for braving the brisk February air and wearing kilts!
After a lovely church ceremony, it was just a short drive down the road to Pangdean Barns for food, fun and fizz!
Jamie is a massive Newcastle United supporter, so Hannah arranged for all the tables to be named in tribute to some of the team’s famous players. I’m not a massive football follower but even I recognized the delightful mullet of Kevin Keegan!
I first got to know Jacqueline and David a few years ago when I photographed the wedding of two of their friends, Victoria & Graeme, so I was thrilled when they got in touch to book me for their own wedding.
Jacqueline and David met when they were both students at the University of Sussex, so it was a lovely touch that they decided to hold their wedding ceremony at the atmospheric Meeting House on the University’s campus.
The Meeting House really is an incredible venue: each window is filled with a different coloured pane of glass and when the sun shines it’s a bit like standing inside a kaleidoscope!
Jacqueline and David are an incredibly cool and stylish couple and their wedding day was no exception. Jacqueline arrived at the Meeting House in a vintage VW Beetle where David, looking incredibly dapper, was anxiously waiting to meet her.
After the ceremony, witnessed by Jacqueline and David’s friends and family, we headed on to Pangdean Barn for a lovely reception, delicious food, some really touching speeches and a good old boogie!
A gorgeous spring wedding and a thoroughly fab couple.
After meeting them, hanging out with them for their engagement session & getting to know them over the course of a year – Kate & Lincoln’s Pangdean Barn wedding was a day that couldn’t arrive quick enough for me – every time I saw that Kate had visited my website (My web stats show a lot of visits from San Francisco, I don’t know anyone but K&L in SF!) the anticipation increased just that bit more! So even though the weather was not kind (massive understatement), it was still a brilliant, beautiful day filled to the brim with emotion, excitement & fun.
I started the day briefly with Lincoln in the pub. Mainly as I’d already been to see Kate, when the bridesmaids, in various state of preparedness, ran away like startled deer – albeit way more glamorous!
Last month was crazy, I shot more weddings in August, than I did in my entire first year of business & and I loved every single one!
Emma & Dan are awesome, totally lovely people & I knew their wedding day was going to be a stylish affair! After seeing how relaxed & fun they were in front of the camera on their engagement session it was a day I’d been looking forward to for ages! OK, so it rained a bit… but that didn’t stop them having a great time & it certainly didn’t stop me getting pretty pictures…
