Katie & Charles

If you’re working your way through my blog posts, you may believe I exclusively cater to brides names Katie, not true – but it does wonders if you’re not good at remembering names.

We’ve got some other names coming up soon, but until then…

Katie & Charles were married a few weeks ago at Firle Place, the Riding School to be precise – a hugely popular country house wedding venue in Sussex and one I’ve had the pleasure of returning to many times over the years for weddings.

I’m a big believer that it’s the people that make a wedding, it’s not always about the venue, the weather or the details. Ok, so it also helped the visual side of things that they had a beautiful venue, beautiful weather, beautiful details and an all star team of suppliers. But at the end of the day, people make the wedding – my role is all about capturing those human moments, the little laughs, the looks and the feelings – and this day had that by the shed load.

Chloe & James
  • Firle Place hosted Chloe and James’ wedding in September.
  • Firle is a wonderful estate just outside of Lewes.
  • The riding school made for a beautiful, creative backdrop to their reception.
  • The ceremony was in the nearby St Peters Church.
  • Chloe Plays in a Brass Band, who put on a great show during the reception.
  • They had so many DIY and creative touches throughout the day.
  • They treated their 100+ guests to a Fish and Chip dinner.

Chloe and James are a mega creative couple and their Firle Place wedding, which took place in the grounds of Firle Place and Firle Riding School in Sussex, had a lovely village fete theme, complete with loads of outdoor circus-style games to keep their guests amused during the reception. They even had a mini tightrope – how awesome is that?!

Chloe the bride plays horn in the Uckfield Concert Brass band and her band chums played throughout the ceremony at the church and then again later at the wedding reception. But as an extra special touch the band was joined by Chloe herself on the horn. Seriously, she is one talented lady!
