Notley Abbey in Thame, Oxfordshire is a truly gorgeous venue, especially when the sun is shining, so I was really looking forward to shooting Ariadna and Matt’s wedding there earlier this month. We’ve been to Notley Abbey a few times over the years and it’s always an incredible place for a wedding!
Spanish-born Ari met English Matt while they were at University, and their wedding was very much a reflection of anglo-spanish influences, with friends and family flying in from across the globe for the wedding celebrations. And a first for any of the weddings I’ve shot was that all the speeches were in Spanish – really wished I’d paid more attention in my Spanish classes at school! I love it when people really embrace their cultures at weddings from our experience with Indian Weddings to Jewish Weddings, seeing the world and it’s cultures through the lens of a wedding is a real highlight of the job.
We were really lucky with the weather for most of the day, and I was able to steal Ari and Matt away for some couple shots. The light was so beautiful in the afternoon and their couple shots are definitely some of my recent favourites.
Ari & Matt, you were a joy to work with it was a total pleasure to photograph your beautiful wedding x
