Amy and Dan are the most laid-back couple and were a total dream to work for. They are massive gamers (as I am I) so in our first meeting when we got on to the subject of Red Dead Redemption & The Witcher we hit it off right away and I knew that their wedding was going to be awesome!
On Amy and Dan’s wedding day, I headed off to Alton in Hampshire to meet Amy and her friends at Amy’s parent’s house for the bridal prep, before making our way into Alton to meet Dan who was patiently waiting at the church with the rest of their guests.
Amy and Dan chose to host their wedding reception at the awesome Gilbert White’s House in Alton, which is the former home of celebrated naturalist Gilbert White. The venue is steeped in history and boasts a 16th century barn, with glorious views over flower-filled meadows and parkland.
The venue is fully licensed to host civil ceremonies. Alternatively, like Amy and Dan, if you’d prefer a church ceremony then you have the option of hosting just your reception at Gilbert Whites House.
Amy and Dan had some really lovely personal touches to their day. They are regulars at their local pub where they all take part in the weekly pub quiz so they for their pub’s quizmaster to host a quiz for all their guests at the wedding. Once the quiz was in full swing it turned out all the guests were super competitive and the atmosphere was really lively!
We were blessed with beautiful sunshine on the day but as dusk drew in a spooky mist rolled in across the meadows and Amy and Dan were keen to head out for photos – it was pretty atmospheric!
This was such a great wedding to be a part of – huge congrats to Amy and Dan and thank you also to their friends and family for making me feel so very welcome (and all the gaming chats, of course!).
