I’ve been looking forward to Cait & Sam’s wedding for the longest time, in hindsight, from even before I received Cait’s enquiry. Cait’s was a lovely enquiry, from a lovely person getting married in lovely places – but not just that, because Cait is also the sister of Anna, who’s wedding (to Rich) I photographed in 2021. Anna & Rich’s wedding was another lovely day – a day filled to the brim with warm, welcoming families who wore their hearts on their sleeves and I knew that Cait would bring me back into the orbit of all those fine folks.
Now, I’ve had the pleasure of crossing paths with Cait, Sam, Rich & Anna at many weddings over the past few years -not only are they a very well connected bunch, but lots of their friends have booked me for their wedding photography too. So going into Cait’s wedding, I knew that it was going to be wonderful.
Cait told me she wanted a low-key, laid back day. A day that prioritised the connections with their families and a day that didn’t place too much pressure on things – all things that are right up my street!
They started their day in Brighton, at the Town Hall for an intimate ceremony with 20 or so of their family and friends, before turning up the dial as the day progressed on towards Hove (at the stylish Ouef Cafe) and a hundred more of their friends arrived.
I love weddings at Brighton town hall, it’s a such a nice building (admittedly, most council buildings don’t set the bar super high, but Brightons genuinely is lovely!) and It’s the perfect set-up for a wedding like Cait & Sam’s, as it gets the legal bit done, before the rest of the day can take shape however they liked.
