National Trust Weddings – Laura & Gavin

Wow, where do I start with this one? Laura & Gavin are brilliant fun and were smiling from ear to ear from beginning to end of their wedding – as was I!

Laura & Gavin had only been planning their wedding for a little while when they first got in touch with me about being their photographer. They had definite ideas for their day – but above all else, knew they wanted to be outdoors for their ceremony. After our initial meeting, we exchanged many an email – as their date and venues changed, their plans evolved and progressed – but always maintaining a focus on tying the knot outdoors.

It makes sense, they’re outdoorsy people, always looking to the next adventure – and a wedding should be personal, a reflection of your characters.

In the end, they chose the beautiful National Trust property, Nymans Garden for their wedding – the opportunity to be married under their fantastic Loggia – against the stunning backdrop of the gardens – all the while fulfilling their outdoor ceremony aspirations ticked all the boxes.

This also provided them with the opportunity to work with the lovely Sophie, the wedding coordinator at Nymans, who made sure everything ran perfectly. We’ve photographed many Nymans Weddings and they are always wonderful days to be a part of. I was also recently looking through a wedding my friend Matt did there, it’s so inspiring seeing how different photographers see things and use the same space differently.

In Laura’s words –

“These are bloody gorgeous. How did you make us look so great?! It was effortless having you around, it felt like having a friend hanging out with us!”

Laura & Gavin are made for one another, partners-in-crime – it’s apparent they have the most fun when they’re together and make a brilliant team, going on countless adventures – They also have some of the most lively friends I’ve encountered – making for a fun day indeed!

Our coverage starts with Laura and the girls, early on a wonderfully sunny, August morning, at The Grand Hotel, Brighton – a top location to get ready for a wedding!

Then I went over to catch up with Gavin and the guests at the Waggon & Horses, before travelling with them aboard an old London Bus, through the Sussex countryside to Nymans.

After their Ceremony, everyone headed back to Brighton, for an evening of great food, fabulous company, hilarious speeches and enthusiastic dancing at The Coach House.

Laura & Gavin, you are amazing – I wish you all the best for your adventures – thank you for having me along, let’s hang out again sometime soon!
