There is something about a summer wedding at Pelham House when the sky is completely clear and the sun refuses to soften. Bright. Hot. Full of movement. Duaa and Titus brought that same energy with them from Australia, planning their wedding in Lewes from the other side of the world while relocating, starting new roles as doctors, and generally taking on more than most people would attempt in a year. And yet when the day arrived, it felt effortless.
Duaa began the morning in the Bridal Suite, sunlight pouring through the windows. Downstairs, Titus was in constant motion before the ceremony, checking details, speaking to suppliers, quietly making sure everything was exactly as it should be. It was not showy. He simply cared. That steadiness balanced Duaa’s elegance perfectly.
Their ceremony took place outdoors, the pavilion framed by blue sky and summer colour. Afterwards, drinks flowed across the terrace, and later the speeches were held outside as well, the warmth of the day carrying into the evening. One of the things Pelham House does well in Lewes is allow that movement between garden and house without breaking the rhythm. Dinner and dancing followed in the Blencowe Room, where the atmosphere shifted from refined to fully alive.
Duaa’s Middle Eastern heritage was woven into the celebration, most vividly when dancers with drums filled the space and pulled guests onto the floor. The colours, the music, the pace of it all. By the time the dance floor was in full swing, it felt less like a formal wedding reception and more like a true gathering of families.
There were quieter moments too. During the outdoor speeches, Duaa shared a look with her mum that felt completely unguarded. She was not performing for the room. She did not know anyone was watching. It was simple and deeply felt. Later, as the light turned golden at the bottom of the gardens, we took a few minutes for portraits in that soft evening glow. After such a bold, lively day, it was a chance for them to slow down together.
A sophisticated, sun-soaked Pelham House wedding in Lewes, shaped by distance, determination and a great deal of family joy.

Duaa and Titus are Doctors, so are well used to high pressure environments, and took everything in their stride. From pulling together a dream team of suppliers at such short notice, to transporting family and friends from across the globe to the tiny town of Lewes – they brought everything together perfectly.
Pelham House, is a beautiful Lewes Wedding Venue. It’s recently undergone a significant renovation transforming it into the most beautiful space. It’s quite special, and there aren’t a lot of country house wedding venues in the area quite like it. From the ability to have an outdoor ceremony, to the gorgeous terraces for the drinks reception to the sublime room for the reception – Pelham House offers a lot.
Duaa and Titus were one of the first weddings there post revamp and I’m pleased to say they opened the venue in style.
We’re very fortunate that after seeing these beautiful images, Pelham House added us to their preferred list – very excited to be back there next year for many more gorgeous weddings.
Highlights throughout the day include Duaa’s magnificent bespoke dress. The gorgeous flowers decorating the outdoor ceremony space and gardens. The immensely well considered decor in the reception space – which served as an ideal backdrop to some of the most heartfelt and hilarious speeches I’ve witnessed.
The day was finished up perfectly by the evening entertainment and the dancing. Duaa wanted to incorporate her heritage into the day, so had a middle-eastern Dabke band who got everyone up and dancing – making for one of the liveliest spectacles ever witnessed – literally smiles and laughter everywhere.
After the Dabke had the guests energy levels up, the DJ played some tracks, before the wonderful Candy Apple Blue took over and made sure the dance floor was jumping well into the night.
The bar has been raised.
