Wadhurst Castle Wedding – Eunji & Joe

In Early June, on a wonderfully warm, yet overcast day Eunji and Joe celebrated their love with a Wadhurst Castle wedding, surrounded by Sheep in East Sussex. They brought their nearest and dearest family and friends from all across the globe and celebrated in beautiful, intimate style with an outdoor ceremony in the walled garden, followed by a delightful meal in the garden room.

“We’re currently waiting to watch the sun set over a beautiful indonesian island and your slideshow could not have been better timed. Thank you so much from us both – they are wonderful beyond words…”

Intimate weddings are so very special, Eunji and Joe chose to celebrate with around 20 guests, as they were keen to spend lots of time with everyone – they wanted to ensure that everyone could relax and have a great time, enjoying the gardens and just having a wonderful afternoon in magnificent surroundings, and when those beautiful surroundings are Wadhurst Castle – I can understand why! Wadhurst is a private country home, with impeccably manicured gardens – architecturally similar to Rhinefield House or Wiston House, but with a greater degree of intimacy – it’s perfect for a couple planning a smaller wedding, like Eunji and Joe, but equally at home with larger crowds.

Eunji is Korean, and Joe is English – Eunji’s family speak no English and Joe’s family speak no Korean, but their love for Eunji and Joe needed no translation and everyone was so full of joy and happiness to witness their very special day – The coming together of two cultures was a beautiful thing to witness and even if the language barrier caused some interesting moments, nothing dampened the warmth and love permeating the day.

The weather was delightful, so after they had their outdoor ceremony in the castles stunning gardens they were very keen to go exploring, which provided lots of variety to their photos – a real treat for a wedding photographer! We had communicated via facetime before the wedding and they had told me they were really nervous to be photographed – but after helping them through the initial nerves they were ultra relaxed and posing like stars.

Eunji was keen to put her own stamp on the day and worked tirelessly on the details – from making the stunning wedding cake herself to collecting glass bottles and leaves for the table decorations, she clearly had a vision for her day and brought it together beautifully – she’s a very talented lady.

Getting to know the people involved in weddings is one of the highlights of the job, and it was a complete pleasure to get to know Eunji, Joe and their families – especially Joe’s gran and grandad, who have been married 55 years!! What an achievement,   and from talking to them I could tell they were as in love today as they were in 1963. Incredible. Congratulations to them – and also congratulations to Eunji and Joe – thank you for having me along!
