This was one of the first Southover Grange Weddings following their wonderful restoration and relaunch, such a beautiful place to get married and the grange gardens are immaculate!
Evelyn and Chris went for a relaxed, Informal, and very laid back day. They started the day with a wedding ceremony at Southover Grange before heading over to Chris’s family home for a chilled summer garden party.
They’re a pair of World-travelling doctors and planned their wedding from afar, but they did it with such style and skill, you wouldn’t be able to tell. With the support of family and friends and a team of world-class suppliers, the day came together perfectly.
Evelyn started the day in East Dean – at an incredible house, with breathtaking views over the bell tout lighthouse. The Cuckmere Valley is such a stunning part of the country – no wonder it draws tourists from across the globe – very fortunate to have it on our doorstep provided the perfect setting for Evelyn to prepare surrounded by her family and friends.
Southover Grange Lewes Wedding Ceremony
Evelyn travelled from East Dean to meet Chris at Lewes Grange for their ceremony, it’s been newly refurbished, and this was actually my first wedding there in about 7 years. Previously they used the offices upstairs in the Registry office – I must say the new rooms and the access straight onto the Grange gardens is a huge improvement!
Seaford Head Wedding Photos
Between the ceremony and the reception, we popped up to Seaford head for few photos! They’re adventurous souls, not afraid to hop a stile in their wedding attire and run across a field of sheep for gorgeous photos.
We regularly go to Seaford Head for wedding photos – but the landscape looked very different on this day, it was right in the middle of a Heatwave, so it was pretty dry and the grass was yellow – but it was stunning none-the-less
A relaxed Garden Wedding Reception
Their reception took place in a marquee in Chris’s mum’s garden – she’s a keen gardener and regularly opens up her gardens for events and parties – recently exhibiting in Seaford in Bloom. The amount of work she had put in was a joy to see – such attention to detail and such a perfect spot for a wedding – and so very personal!
The marquee looked great, so many individual touches and the colours against the background of the garden in bloom was a perfect combination.
Celebrating Chris’s Scottish heritage – they finished the evening in style with a Ceilidh – such a lively bunch, dancing until late into the night!
