Emma & Matt’s wedding at Hampton Court House was a lot of fun, really lovely people, a great atmosphere & an amazing location.
- The bride got ready at her parents house.
- The ceremony and reception were at Hampton Court House.
- The views over Bushy park during the ceremony were amazing.
- They had Champagne & Canapes on the lawn in front of the House.
- The meal took place in Hampton Court House’s Red Dining room.
- They danced the night away in the Conservatory.
I photograph a lot of weddings in Surrey, and a Hampton Court House wedding is always a treat – it’s definitely a top venue and one I love returning to.
During the week the Hampton Court House is a wonderful private school filled with the best and brightest children from around the world, but at weekends and during the summer holidays it gets transformed into the most sophisticated and exclusive setting for a wedding, a backdrop that suited the wonder Emma and Matt perfectly.
Emma’s parents live close to Hampton Court House, so it was a logical choice to get ready there, Emma wanted to keep things low key and intimate at this stage of the day – and choose to surround herself with her closest friend, who was also her bridesmaid, and her parents.
They were also assisted by the talented and brilliantly calming influence – makeup artist, Natalie guest.
Emma is one of the smiliest brides I’ve ever worked with, she clearly wears her heart on her sleeve and it was a joy to see. Her arrival and walk down the aisle contained such an immense amount of emotion, from both the beautiful bride herself, but also her father and her eagerly waiting groom! Documenting it was a delight.
After the wonderful ceremony, everyone headed out for canapes and champagne on the lawn – they say ‘like attracts like’ and Emma and Matt’s wedding guests could not have been more smily, happy and fun to be around – just like the lovely Bride and Groom.
When the evening started to get cooler, everyone headed into the wonderful, red reception room – which Emma had decorated with lots of lovely little personal touches, from the ‘table captain’ armbands, ensuring someone would keep order during the quiz – to the delightfully accurate representations of the bride and groom, by way of leia and han lego minifigures atop the stunning, and rather delicious cake.
The evening ran beautifully in the reception room – culminating in some hilarious, hugely animated speeches, before ramping up in energy and excitement for an night of dancing and great music in the conservatory.
A truly wonderful day, in amazing surroundings filled with wonderfully happy, smiley people – what more can you ask for!
The blog may be a little quiet for the next week or so – Next week, I’m off to Bath for a wedding, and then onto the Isle of Wight – the travel schedule is great this time of year!

It was a particularly pleasant loft access hatch, So I photographed it… The dress was rather nice too.
