Katie & Charles were married a few weeks ago at Firle Place Riding School – a hugely popular country house wedding venue in Sussex and one I’ve had the pleasure of returning to many times over the years for weddings.
Weddings just have something special. You can’t put your finger on it – It’s a sort of intangible magic.
Duaa and Titus’ Pelham House Wedding was packed full of this magic.
Not only did they put their beautiful Sussex wedding from the other side of the planet, in just a couple of months.
But they planned their day alongside relocating, across the globe + moving house + starting new jobs.
These guys certainly know how to make life tough for themselves – but they certainly pulled it off.
Where to begin with this day, it was a total roller coaster of joy. Max said in his speech that he and Katie are always the happiest people in whatever room they’re in – it’s impossible not to agree – smiles and laughter covered their faces for the entire day, except perhaps with a small break for the emotional bits – but those are entirely required at a wedding!
They certainly had some competition from their family and friends in the happiness stakes though, the joy and enthusiasm from everyone was utterly contagious – everyone was in incredible spirits and completely up for a party. From the excitement of the preparations in the morning through to the dancing in the evening, everything was infused with joy – exactly what’s needed to make for an incredible day.
This was one of the first Southover Grange Weddings following their wonderful restoration and relaunch, such a beautiful place to get married and the grange gardens are immaculate!
Evelyn and Chris went for a relaxed, Informal, and very laid back day. They started the day with a wedding ceremony at Southover Grange before heading over to Chris’s family home for a chilled summer garden party.
Helen and Will’s Bartholomew Barn Wedding – Wow, what a corker of a day. Late Autumn can traditionally be a lousy time of the year for weather – but not so for Helen and Will, the blue skies and sun had could have convinced me that I’d arrived at their wedding a few months early – The truth is, the weather was better than a lot of our August weddings!
An incredible Blackstock Country Estate wedding – I’ve said it many times before, but it’s the people that make a wedding, so 8 lively bridesmaids, a hundred or so fun, friendly and welcoming guests – friends and family brought from far and wide to celebrate – and a relaxed bride and groom who were so much fun to spend the day with, made for a truly brilliant wedding.
Lucy and Martin are super organised – having booked the majority of their wedding already when they met me, some 18 months before their wedding – they knew exactly what they wanted from their day – they wanted a relaxed vibe, where they could bring together all their friends and family to let loose and have an amazing party. Perfect!
I met a lady a few years back at Becca and Phil’s wedding, at the time I didn’t know her name.
I remembered her fondly because she was the most excited about sparklers and the subject of one of my favourite photos. It was contagious – potentially the happiest face I’ve seen in a photograph ever. She’d been a fun and lively guest all day – but when the sparklers came out, she turned it up to 11.
Alice and Greg’s Cowdray House Wedding, just before Christmas was the most magical day!
Planning an afternoon ceremony in late December, Alice knew from the start it would likely be cold and dark (and as it turned out, wet!) meaning the majority of their day would be inside – something that we’re very used to working with, given the wonderfully unpredictable weather!
But she couldn’t have chosen a grander location, and she certainly couldn’t have picked a more fitting place for a Christmas wedding.
The Cowdray estate and Buck hall the room they used for their reception, looked perfect – including the biggest Christmas tree we have ever seen! We were also briefed to get lots of lovely photos of the fireplaces roaring away in the library – something that we naturally would have done, more so given the coldness of the day, any excuse to go near a lovely warm fire!
Alice got ready with her bridesmaids at the family home in Hampshire, and as she grew up in the house it was only right that we captured lots of details showing the history – like the lovely little detail on her childhood bedroom door!
Wow, where do I start with this one? Laura & Gavin are brilliant fun and were smiling from ear to ear from beginning to end of their wedding – as was I!
