Rosie and James got married in January in Bexhill, celebrating their wedding at the De La Warr Pavilion. With it being a 4pm ceremony, in winter – they knew they wouldn’t really be outside for a lot of the day, but as they were really keen to have light, bright and airy portraits, they chose to have their couple photos later in the year – once the weather improved.
Lucie and Rob got married a few weeks ago at Brighton Town Hall, in the beautifully intimate Fitzherbert Room. It was just Lucie, Rob and their two friends who acted as witnesses – along with the registrars of course, which created the most wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. I love small weddings and elopements and this was a perfect example of how to do it the right way.
Rosie and James’ had a beautiful wedding a few weeks ago at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill. A 4pm ceremony in mid-January is expected to be a little colder and darker than the rest of the year – but Rosie and James, along with their friends and family lit up the day, with love, warmth, happiness and laughter.
It was a pleasure to witness, photograph and be a part of.
2017 – Wow. What an amazing and emotional year, full of beautiful Stories, Memories & Moments.
Getting to this point of the year, a traditionally quiet time for wedding photographers, provides a perfect opportunity for sitting back with a mug of coffee and taking a look through the previous 365 days, seeing the magic of a year unfolding across thousands of photos.
It’s easy to forget, but each photo represents a moment in time, a moment of incredible significance to the people involved. Moments I had the pleasure of witnessing and the honour of documenting.
It’s truly humbling.
Luki & Liam got engaged on Brighton beach , so when it came time to arrange their wedding – Brighton was the logical place to celebrate their big day! They got married at the beautiful Angel House, which is right on the seafront, a stones throw from where they got engaged & It was a perfect place for these two to tie the knot! A beautiful regency house, surrounded by their family, friends & lots of children including their daughter Luna – They made their day about fun, laughter & love.
Gina & Ben had us down to their beautiful house a few weeks back, for their magnificent, fun and relaxed fun fair wedding. They wanted a different take on the traditional wedding, and wanted to make it fun for everyone – so they had had an entire fun fair to entertain their guests, from a coconut shy to a ring toss, a strength tester, ice cream van and street food… and of course, an actual, full size, fully amazing, FERRIS WHEEL. I love weddings with a big focus on the guests having an amazing time – we’ve had a few weddings with circus games, fete style games and even one with flying pigs… but a full sized fun fair was certainly a first for us!
A few weeks ago, I traveled to Brookfield Barn, a brand new wedding venue, both in terms of it being the first wedding I’ve photographed there, but also in that it only opened a year or so ago! It’s very exciting to have such a great new venue right on my doorstep! It reminds me a little of another venue we frequent – Bury Court Barn, but is considerably closer!
I was there for the wedding of CJ and Luke, it was a date I felt I had highlighted on my calendar for a long time, as CJ first contacted me straight after I’d photographed Katie & Jason’s Barn wedding.
One of CJ’s 13 Bridesmaids, (yes you read that right! one-three. thirteen!) was Katie’s sister, so CJ had seen my work, loved my style and wanted me to be their photographer. When I get enquiries like that, they’re always super exciting – as I know some of the crowd already, and it becomes as if I’m just photographing a friends wedding, which is a pretty special thing to say.
I love this wedding so much, it had everything about weddings that I love – from the location (Lewes – my favourite town! I essentially grew up there, and go back as much as I can!) to the wonderful, friendly people, to tons of sumptuous details & heaps of rustic charm.
I’ve been photographing weddings at Notley Abbey for about 6-7 Years now & it’s always a great place to spend the day, Lisa & Dan’s wedding was no exception.
When I arrived Lisa & the girls were busily setting everything up & decorating the venue, as Lisa had put alot of thought into how the day would look, she wanted to make sure everything went perfectly before heading up to the bridal suite to transform into a stunning bride!
Dan & the boys were getting ready nearby, so I could catch both sides of their preparations, although I’m not sure whether it was the boys or the girls who used more hairspray!
