A few weeks ago, I traveled to Brookfield Barn, a brand new wedding venue, both in terms of it being the first wedding I’ve photographed there, but also in that it only opened a year or so ago! It’s very exciting to have such a great new venue right on my doorstep! It reminds me a little of another venue we frequent – Bury Court Barn, but is considerably closer!
I was there for the wedding of CJ and Luke, it was a date I felt I had highlighted on my calendar for a long time, as CJ first contacted me straight after I’d photographed Katie & Jason’s Barn wedding.
One of CJ’s 13 Bridesmaids, (yes you read that right! one-three. thirteen!) was Katie’s sister, so CJ had seen my work, loved my style and wanted me to be their photographer. When I get enquiries like that, they’re always super exciting – as I know some of the crowd already, and it becomes as if I’m just photographing a friends wedding, which is a pretty special thing to say.
Louise & Craig got married earlier in the year, at the fantastic Barn at Bury Court, it’s a venue I’ve had the privilege of working at many times before – I believe my first wedding there was about 2009! Time flies!
Bury Court Barn is an impressive wedding venue – filled with wow factor and with the most wonderful gardens in Bentley, Surrey. It really lends itself to big, fun summer weddings and with the ability to seamlessly transition from the magnificent indoor spaces to the gorgeous outdoor spaces – it really adds a relaxed vibe to any wedding day, and when the sun is shining the terraces transform into the most magical, relaxing space.
Louise and Craig knew this and they had planned just that!
They told me ahead of their wedding about their vision – they wanted to share a perfect summers day with all of their friends and family and just have a lovely time enjoying delicious food and drink, having a big party, celebrating with everyone they know.
As always, Bury Court Barn looked absolutely beautiful and the gardens were in full bloom, Louise had really made the venue her own with a lovely summery colour pallet and lots of lovely hand made pom poms hanging from the vaulted ceiling.
This attention to detail, coupled with the fact that Louise & Craig really know how to throw an amazing party, made for a very lively day – it helped that all the groomsmen and ushers were all up for a great laugh – and many of the guests work with Craig in the fire service – a more lively bunch of party animals you will seldom meet.
I started with Louise & her many bridesmaids at The Bush Hotel in nearby Farnham, a perfect spot to get ready as its reasonably close to Bury Court Barn, and allows for a really good sized wedding party – along with multiple makeup artists, hairstylists to get ready for a special day, in comfort. Louise was clearly nervous/excited – but her bridesmaids and mum really kept the atmosphere light and fun, stopping any nerves from taking over.
After the preparations, everything took place at Bury Court and everyone really embraced the indoor/outdoor vibe of the day and had the most wonderful time until the late hours on the terraces enjoying Hog Roast, champagne and music, as the sun slowly fell beneath the surrey hills.
Thank you L+C, so much, for having me along to document your beautiful day!
I love this wedding so much, it had everything about weddings that I love – from the location (Lewes – my favourite town! I essentially grew up there, and go back as much as I can!) to the wonderful, friendly people, to tons of sumptuous details & heaps of rustic charm.
I’ve been photographing weddings at Notley Abbey for about 6-7 Years now & it’s always a great place to spend the day, Lisa & Dan’s wedding was no exception.
When I arrived Lisa & the girls were busily setting everything up & decorating the venue, as Lisa had put alot of thought into how the day would look, she wanted to make sure everything went perfectly before heading up to the bridal suite to transform into a stunning bride!
Dan & the boys were getting ready nearby, so I could catch both sides of their preparations, although I’m not sure whether it was the boys or the girls who used more hairspray!
A Winter Wedding at Brympton House. A heartwarming day in the middle of winter. The chapel was decorated with beautiful candles. Liss looked ethereal in her Sarah Janks dress. They danced the night away in the party barn. Good Times!
Blimey, where to start with this Brympton House Wedding! A few weeks ago I headed along the coast to Somerset for Liss & Matt’s wedding at the stunning Brympton D’evercy House. I regularly travel west for weddings, including places like Bath and Bristol – always fun immersing oneself in a long-distance wedding!
I first met Liv back in 2012 at Heather & Tim’s Wedding – where she was the maid of honour & was immensely helpful throughout the day – especially during the group photos! So when her email dropped into my inbox enquiring If I’d be able to be her wedding photographer, for her Farbridge Barn Wedding – I was massively excited. Knowing the crowd & some of the family already, I knew it was going to be a relaxed, fun & friendly day – one that would be immensely fun to document.
Late last year I had the pleasure of spending not one, but two beautiful days with Claudia & Sarang for their weddings.
The first wedding was at The Royal Pavilion, Brighton & included a lovely, intimate ceremony with their closest family, before heading over to Food For Friends, for a nice relaxed meal & some celebratory drinks. The second was a full on Indian wedding at Bhasvic.
