Firle Place Weddings – Chloe & James

Home » Blog » Weddings » Firle Place Weddings – Chloe & James

Chloe and James are a mega creative couple and their Firle Place wedding, which took place in the grounds of Firle Place and Firle Riding School in Sussex, had a lovely village fete theme, complete with loads of outdoor circus-style games to keep their guests amused during the reception. They even had a mini tightrope – how awesome is that?!

We love Firle Weddings – which is lucky, as we’re on their preferred list and find ourselves there quite a few times each year!

Planning your own Firle Place Wedding? Want to see more real Firle weddings?

  • Firle Place hosted Chloe and James’ wedding in September.
  • Firle is a wonderful estate just outside of Lewes.
  • The riding school made for a beautiful, creative backdrop to their reception.
  • The ceremony was in the nearby St Peters Church.
  • Chloe Plays in a Brass Band, who put on a great show during the reception.
  • They had so many DIY and creative touches throughout the day.
  • They treated their 100+ guests to a Fish and Chip dinner.

2019 update: We’re delighted that we’ve been named a preferred photographer of Firle Place! If you’re planning your own wedding there and would like to see the other weddings we’ve covered there or to discuss how we can capture the magic at your wedding, do get in touch!

Chloe the bride plays horn in the Uckfield Concert Brass band and her band chums played throughout the ceremony at the church and then again later at the wedding reception. But as an extra special touch, the band was joined by Chloe herself on the horn. Seriously, she is one talented lady!

In a break from the traditional three-course wedding breakfast Chloe and James laid on a fish and chip supper for the guests, all made fresh on-site by a mobile fish and chip company, complete with optional mushy peas and lashings of tomato ketchup, salt and vinegar. As a chip connoisseur, I can confirm they were utterly delicious.

And as a final awesome touch, Chloe and James had hired some Charleston dancers to teach their guests a dance routine. The dancers were incredible and by the end of the night everyone was out of their seats and dancing their socks off. I bet there were some very sore feet the next day!

Chloe and James your wedding was utterly awesome. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of it and inspiring me to try my hand at juggling! x

We find ourselves travelling all across the country, with recent weddings in Bath, Bristol, Wales and the isle of wight – in addition to our usual locations of London and Surrey – So, it was a real treat to be a part of one so close to home!
